Remember Hempuli’s “Floating Islands Game”!? Wanna play it?!
“Because there were so many requests for a demo, I managed to create a version with the first five levels, the credits-section and half of the tutorial. The demo shows all the basic stuff that appear in the game, though there’s nothing really cool like in some of the later levels I have to keep at least some things secret to the public release!
The game uses just mouse and it’s left button, but if you want to get irritated you can also use esc or enter for some stuff. Notice also that every level has a ‘restart’ and ‘quit’ buttons in the bottom-right corner.“
A small demo of the game has been released at SilverNova so go check it out! ^_^
Aeria Games aren’t quite as ‘indie’ as they once were… but you can see why! ‘Project Torque’ boasts excellent 3D graphics and features many, many different areas of gameplay from building your own car and just cruising around, to high-speed stock-car racing!
Eight is enough… but soon you will be able to race up to 32 players at one time! THIRTY-TWO!! So, looking for a free, online, MMO Racing game? Your searching stops here. Oh, you’ll need to pass your license first, though
When I first caught a glimpse of this game from a screenshot, I knew I’d love it. The cuteness of the graphics and awesome lighting effects were enough for me… but no, there’s actual gameplay too! Better still - it doesn’t lack in that department, either.

This exciting-looking RPG created by Rampant Games, will be released very soon! Jay Barnson describes the game:
“Frayed Knights is Rampant Games’ upcoming comedy-based fantasy RPG. It’s a blend of old-school style (first-person, turn-based, party-based adventures like Wizardry, The Bard’s Tale, Dungeon Master, and Might & Magic) with “real” 3D graphics, a healthy dose of character-based humor, and some quirky gameplay innovations. It’s part parody, part homage to both CRPGs and pen-and-paper RPGs.”
The artwork and graphics in this game look very good! The inspiration and background behind this game makes it sound very fascinating indeed, and with what seems to be such a mixed variation of gameplay elements supplied with a good sense of humour - there’s no reason as to why this game wouldn’t be worth a try!…?
But I know… a humour-based, fantasy RPG? Will they pull this one off? Will it work?! … I hope so! Read more about this upcoming game in an interview with Jay Barnson at RPGWatch, by clicking here.
Floating Islands Game, or “FIG”, is a very stylish and very well-built game being produced by Hempuli. The game itself has a lot of charm. FIG is a puzzle / strategy game, boasting over 30 levels and 5 secret levels and its gameplay only requires you use the mouse! Why? This game is inspired from games like ‘Lemmings’ and the infamous flash game, ‘Hapland’.
Aid the man from one side to the other. Simple eh? Ohhh no. Of course not The levels feature so many various ways of saving and killing the little dude, ranging from watering cans, to vicious dogs, to laser beams! But nothing says more than a video, so I’ll do something a little out-of-the-ordinary and post this youtube trailer
Keep up the excellent work Hempuli! I’m looking forward to this one..!! Find more information on FIG, right here.
I’ve been keeping a very close eye on this one. Not only is it an Real-time Strategy - It’s a Real-time Strategy made with Multimedia Fusion!! “Is that even possible?” I hear you scream… well according to ‘Retainer’, the man behind the game, it is very possible indeed!
This video only shows a very short snippet of what’s to come, but it certainly looks promising and very impressive!
Fortunately, the name of the game isn’t set in stone. “Alien Invasion” isn’t really the most… imaginative… of choices Will be interesting to see what it turns in to. The game is very pretty too, which is always a bonus! This seems to be a project that will actually be finished, too (”touch wood”, as they say!). Four years to make the engine for it? Really!? After such a long time in the works, it’d be crazy to give up now!
Remember to send us your news guys! Whatever it is, major or minor, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Head splitting, hardware accelerated, baby crushing action!
In a truly unique attempt to explore the hardware acceleration beta in Multimedia Fusion a developer known as PaulG has used babies falling from exhausting heights. The game features some decent rag-doll physics and excellent silhouetted graphics (most likely to censor the extreme body breaking injuries these babies endure).
So how does it work?
“The goal is to reach the end of the course within the alloted time and with at least one bone remaining in your little meatbags body“
It’s an excellent time waster and a great start to a new potential for MMF developers. Try it out here.
Today I bring you some information about “The Ion Adventures” made by Newt.
This game looks quite different from most platform games, since all the graphics are 3D renders and it apparently plays quite differently too! It mixes RPG elements with traditional platform gameplay and adds an intriguing story too, what more could you ask for? To quote Newt himself; “It’s been in development for over two years now, and when complete in Spring 08 it will include over 35 levels, several bosses much more!”
If you’re interested there is much more information available at Newt’s own site and If you’re after some video footage of the game, some can be found in the latest episode of The Klikcast which can be viewed here.
Konjak has only gone and released a demo of Noitu Love 2!!
The game will be shareware or donationware; Konjak says he will let us know. So the demo provides a small taster of what’s in store for us. Click here for more information and download! (thanks axel :))
Today I bring you another video (amazing!) this time it’s of Ainevoltas 2 by Alspal (video shot and edited by yours truly, all in about an hour).
The description from Alspal is as follows:
It’s 11 years since the defeat of Azazel, monsters have invaded the castle again. Justin is asked back to the castle and to find out who is behind the invasion this time! This little RPG has many, many hidden secrets! Can you unlock them all? (note: signs may lie!)
This really is a fun little time waster, and as you can see in the video there’s quite a bit to do (Note the save file with 9999 health was hacked by me for fun, I will not be releasing the application I created to do this, unfortunately :P). There are a total of three characters to play as, women to marry and bear you a child, monsters to kill and bosses to battle - it’s all really rather epic.
One of the most popular “click” games ever is finally getting a sequel it would seem!
Noitu Love the original was a plain and simple combat based platformer played with the keyboard. That’s all changed, the level of polish in this game is far, far higher and what’s more it’s played only with the mouse! Konjak (the author) has always been known for producing brilliant boss battles; and from the video we can see that he has outdone himself in that respect once again.
The game may be shareware, for a low price of course - but it’s going to be worth every dollar in my opinion.
Let’s get this straight from the start - If you haven’t played this yet - you are missing out!!
What’s more - No download is required. This 3D game is playable straight from your internet browser!! How cool is that?! The aim is to smash into as many raptors as possible with your jeep, and drag them to the nearest collection point, all within the time limit. Points are also awarded for breaking your vehicle and doing stunts!
Recently, Johan from Crobasoft release a thrilling little game called The Yore.
Unfortunately though, the game seemed to be somewhat over-looked. At first it does sound quite bland and predictable…
“You wake up in a room you’ve never seen before by a scream. Why are you here? Where is your friend? What secrets lie within this old house? There’s a creepy feeling about it, and you must find your friend and get out before anything bad happens!
In The Yore you play as either Colin or Amy who are trapped inside a house they don’t recognize. Solve mysteries and find specific items to progress and uncover the secrets behind the house.”
Typically, this wouldn’t have appealed to me as this isn’t really my kind of game, but there was a certain charm about this one that had me wanting to complete it ^_^ The soundtrack and graphics in this game are remarkable and suit the game perfectly! It was actually very atmospheric and very well put-together!
If you haven’t played this game yet, check it out! Find the trailer and more information here - don’t forget to download version 1.1!
